Dr Ottaviani’s academic journey reflects his commitment to scientific and medical excellence:
- BSc (Hons) – Imperial College London (2004), with research in angio-genesis and prostate cancer
- PhD – University College London (2009), leading groundbreaking work on genomics and gene expression
- MBBS – Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry (2014)
He completed his core medical training across London’s busiest acute hospitals, earning Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP, 2017). As an NIHR-funded Academic Clinical Fellow, he trained in Medical Oncology within the competitive North Central London rotation.
Clinical Expertise & Research Leadership
Dr Ottaviani is deeply engaged in translational research and clinical trials, working to develop more effective therapies for breast cancer. His expertise includes:
- Immunotherapy: Managing complex cases, including immunotherapy-related toxicities, as a key member of UCLH’s Immunotherapy Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT)
- Brain Metastases: Specialised treatment strategies for advanced breast cancer
- Personalised Medicine: Leveraging genomic insights to tailor treatments
A respected educator, he lectures medical students at UCL and post-graduate MSc students at Queen Mary University and the Institute of Cancer Research.
Fluent in English and Italian, Dr Ottaviani is known for his compassionate, patient-centered approach. Whether guiding patients through second opinions, novel therapies, or clinical trial opportunities, he ensures care is grounded in the latest evidence and innovation.
